Market hall

In honour of 105 years old Oulu market hall this interior photo. Actually the market hall building was ready a week earlier, 1st fo May, but the business started on 8th of May. At first marketeers didn’t want to go inside from the market place open sky, so armed imperial soldiers compelled them to do so by order.

Market hall is drawn by architects Karl Lindahl and Walter Thome. Its costs was in those days 13 200 mk (79 200 €). Oulu market hall is the fifth biggest in Finland.

Idea for today’s photo and all these interesting information I got from local newspaper Kaleva, thaks to writer Jonna Pulkkinen.
