Today we have flamenco school Amanecera's five years anniversary shows. This image is from premiere at last Sunday and gorgeous dancer is flamenco artists and teacher Krista Saaranen.

We have also a Parliamentary Elections today in Finland. For you who are interested about politics (and city owls ;-) I recommend PPusa's Helsinki blog.

Vernal equinox - Kevätpäiväntasaus

Today day and night are equal long, and dark time is finally behind in northern hemisphere. I celebrate the vernal equinox with this last photo of series of flamenco band Bajo Cero (below Zero) on ice. Yes it was a bit cold but lot of fun too.

Tänään päivä ja yö ovat yhtäpitkät ja pimeä aika on lopultakin taas takana pohjoisella pallonpuoliskolla. Kevätpäiväntasauksen kunniaksi viimeinen kuva sarjasta flamencobändi Bajo Cero (nollan alapuolella) jäällä. Juu, oli hieman kylmä mutta hauskaa.

but I have had intensive working period and preparations of Oulu Feria - Northern flamenco festival has taken all the rest time and energy. I publish our festival poster also here because it's now spreading all over Oulu (hopefully) and we need all publicity and I made it ;-) (this is my very first public, full size, full colour poster so I'm a bit proud of it)

mutta on ollut kovin intensiivinen työjakso ja flamencofestivaalin valmistelut ovat sitten vieneet lopun ajan ja energian. Julkaisen julisteemme myös täällä koska se alkaa olla (toivottavasti) osa Oulun katukuvaa ja tarvitsemme kaiken julkisuuden ja minä olen ihan isse tehnyt sen ;-) (tämä on ensimäinen julkinen täysikokoinen nelivärijulisteeni joten olen ihan pikkuisen ylpeä siitä)

Premiere - Ensi-ilta

To Finnish poet Edith Södergran’s texts based flamenco dance production “To All Four Wind“ get it’s premiere on Saturday at Youth and culture centre Nuku at 4:00 PM. Other displays are Saturday 7:00 PM, and on Sunday 4:00 PM and 7:00 PM. Direction Kirsimarja Törmänen, choreography Krista Saaranen. This is worth to see if you are at Oulu.

An Andalusian Dog - Andalusialainen koira

Oulu film center presents at The Oulu Music Video Festival Louis Buñuel's film An Andalusian Dog, accompany with dancers and choreographer Soili Moilanen from Northern Flamenco. Today I was shooting rehearsals and decided to post one of the images because at the time of the festival, 6th to 10th of September, I'm in Spain and unfortunately can't post you a single photo from the Air Guitar World Championships.
Un Perro Andaluz is at Nuku Big Hall at 10th of September at 19:00 PM.

Oulun elokuvakeskus esittää Oulun musiikkivideofestivaaleilla Louis Buñuelin elokuvan Andalusialainen koira Pohjoisen flamencon tanssijoiden säestyksellä (koreografia Soili Moilanen). Tänään olin kuvaamassa harjoituksia ja päätin postata yhden kuvista koska festivaalin aikaan olen Espanjassa enkä valitettavasti pääse kuvaamaan blogiini edes Ilmakitaran maailmanmestaruuskisoja.
Näytös on Nukun isossa salissa sunnuntaina 10.9. klo 19.00.

Concert - Konsertissa

Flamenco group from Oulu, Bajo Cero (= below cero) had a very nice open air concert tonight and the props were quite beautiful too ;-) If you are at Oulu next Wednesday 9.8. you can go and listen them at restaurant Tervahovi at 9 PM.

Oululainen Flamencokokoonpano Bajo Cero piti tänään onnistuneen ulkoilmakonsertin ja lavasteetkin olivat aika kauniit ;-) Jos satut olemaan Oulussa ensi keskiviikkona 9.8. niin voit kuulla bändiä ravintola Tervahovissa klo 9 alkaen.

CDP Theme Day - CDP teemapäivä

A self-portrait in your favourite place was the theme.
I found this task surprisingly hard, and had all kind of weird ideas, but suddenly I noticed that there I am, in one of my favourite places: Youth and Culture Centre dancing rehearse room 3, shooting dancing-photos.

Omakuva suosikkipaikassasi on siis aiheena.Tämä aihe oli yllättävän hankala, mietin kaikenlaisia kummia ideoita mutta yhtäkkiä huomasin, että siellähän olen, yhdessä lempipaikassani eli Nuoriso- ja kulttuurikeskuksen tanssisalissa 3, kuvaamassa tanssia.
